     Lieutenant Jesus Montes, born and raised in Brenham, Texas graduated from Brenham High School in 2010.  After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served his country for seven and one half years.  In November 2017, he concluded his military career with the rank of Sergeant and began his law enforcement career with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer.

      In December 2018, Lieutenant Montes graduated from the Wharton County Junior College Police Academy continuing his career as a patrol deputy with the sheriff’s office. Since joining the sheriff's office, he has held several positions, including Officer in Charge (OIC), Field Training Officer, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operator (Drone), and Taser Instructor.  In addition to his promotion to Patrol Lieutenant, he as held the ranks of Patrol Sergeant and Sergeant of Criminal Investigations.

      Lieutenant Montes holds an Advanced Peace Officer Certification and a Master Jailer Certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. He has completed a three-week Trilogy FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (LEEDA) program focused on leadership. He is currently attending the American Military University (AMU) to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and is nearing completion of his studies.
