Lieutenant Blakey began his law enforcement career in 1985 attending the TEEX Police Academy. While attending Blinn Junior College, he worked part time for the Burton Police Department. He began his full time law enforcement career in 1988 with the Brenham Police Department and in 1990 was hired by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office working for both Sheriff Billy Rosenbaum and J. W. Jankowski.
In 1999, he took a position with the Bellville Police Department and served as Lieutenant, Assistant Chief and Interim Chief of Police. In 2017, he was elected as Washington County Constable of Precinct 3. He returned to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in 2020 as an Investigator and promoted to Patrol Lieutenant in 2022.
Lieutenant Blakey is a Master Peace Officer as well as a Law Enforcement Instructor and Firearms Instructor. He is also a graduate of the FBI- LEEDA Texas Command College, The LEMIT Texas Constables Leadership Command College and the LEMIT Command Staff Leadership Series.
